Ontology-based modelling of lifecycle underground utility information to support operation and maintenance

چکیده

Operation and maintenance (O&M) of underground utilities is crucial to ensure normal functionality by performing different inspection activities. A variety data are required staff evaluate utility condition make decisions in planning works. Nevertheless, for O&M usually originated from sources, with various formats or representations. Interpreting integrating such heterogenous remains a significant challenge. Therefore, this paper proposes an ontology-based framework modelling lifecycle information as facilitate activities support decision making during O&M. The consists (1) layer collect types data, (2) knowledge extract common mechanisms methods O&M, (3) ontology where domain ontology, Utility Maintenance Ontology (UOMO), developed entities semantic rules represent categories related projects, (4) application automate manual tasks leveraging the query reasoning capability ontology. To validate framework, case study performed using real-world user interface allow users implement functions without technical knowledge. demonstrates that can, efficiently automatically, integrate assist activities, e.g. defect rating, assessment validation, well prioritizing works, selecting appropriate methods. This contributes proposing first improving efficiency capabilities fully utilized. expected interoperability can be extended other large-scale infrastructure management.

Lifecycle-Support in Architectures for Ontology-Based Information Systems

Ontology-based applications play an increasingly important role in the public and corporate Semantic Web. While today there exist a range of tools and technologies to support specific ontology engineering and management activities, architectural design guidelines for building ontology-based applications are missing. In this paper, we present an architecture for ontology-based applications—cover...

NLP-based support for ontology lifecycle development

This paper describes the implementation of an approach to modelling the dynamics of the propagation of textually derived semantic information, in particular with respect to networked ontologies. On the one hand, new ontologies may be generated automatically from textual data, or existing ontologies may be modified or extended according to new evidence. This can cause problems for large or netwo...

Ontology-Based Modelling of Geospatial Information

Seamless sharing and exchange of geospatial information between systems in a distributed environment, like the Internet, is an essential requirement for such information to evolve as a necessary tool in every day’s activities. Perhaps the most difficult problem facing the pursuing of this goal is that of semantic heterogeneity. From the database perspective semantic heterogeneity arises from di...

Ontology-Based Rescue Operation Management

The focus of this paper is ontology-based knowledge management in the framework of a mobile communication and information system for rescue operation management. We present a novel ontology data service, combining prior domain knowledge about large-scale rescue operations with dynamic information about a developing operation. We also discuss the integration of such a data service into a service...
